Tom will fight to ensure local police departments have the resources they need, support policies that hold violent offenders accountable, and strengthen partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. He will also work to allocate funding for our first responders, providing the training and modern technology needed to protect both those who serve our communities and the public they safeguard. By investing in public safety, supporting first responders, and improving quality of life, Tom is committed to making Assembly District 23 a safer, stronger place for every family.
Affordability
New York's affordability crisis is making it harder for families, seniors, and small businesses to make ends meet. Rising taxes, increasing utility bills, and the high cost of everyday essentials are placing an unnecessary burden on the people of Assembly District 23. Tom Sullivan believes government should ease that burden—not make it worse, and has demonstrated that commitment by signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, promising to oppose and vote against any tax increases. Tom will work to lower the cost of living by fighting for lower taxes, supporting responsible state spending, and protecting homeowners from rising property tax burdens. He will support legislation and common-sense policies that make New York a more affordable place to live for all generations, while advocating for tax relief for middle-class families and seniors and standing up for the small businesses that are the backbone of our local economy. By bringing fiscal responsibility back to Albany and keeping his promise not to raise taxes, Tom will fight to make New York a place where families can afford to live, work, and build their future.

Tom proudly supports the QueensLink project, recognizing its potential to restore rail service, improve connectivity across Queens, reduce commute times, and create new recreational green space. He will also fight to improve the quality of our roads by securing funding for long-overdue repairs, resurfacing projects, and infrastructure upgrades that make travel safer for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Quality healthcare should not be determined by your zip code. For too long, the residents of the Rockaways have faced limited access to critical medical services, forced to travel long distances for emergency care and specialized treatments. Tom Sullivan is committed to changing that.
The centerpiece of Tom's healthcare platform is the establishment of a Level 1 Trauma Center right here in the Rockaways. For too long, our community has lacked the emergency care resources it deserves, despite years of promises from local officials that have not delivered results. Tom Sullivan will fight in Albany to secure the funding and partnerships needed to finally bring a Level 1 Trauma Center to the Rockaways. He will also work to lower healthcare costs by supporting greater transparency, accountability, and policies that help make care more affordable for families. In life-threatening emergencies, every second counts, and this critical investment will save lives while strengthening healthcare access across our community.
